Compatibility and Requirements

This OBD2 diagnostic tool is not compatible with ABRP (Android version), Bluedriver, Carly, MHD, xHP, or ProTool. It also does not support compatibility with pre-2008 models or G series vehicles (e.g., 2018+ 3 Series, 2017+ X3, 2017+ 5 Series, 2019+ X5, etc.) when used with BimmerCode. Additionally, it is not suitable for model years before 2008 for BimmerLink.

Functions

Useful for Car Owners: This small, practical OBD2 diagnostic tool can work with various third-party Apps to achieve different functions. The specific features you can access depend on the chosen App and your vehicle. Before purchase or use, please read the “User guide” (containing App & vehicle compatibility information) available in the “Product guide and documents.”

Check Engine Diagnostics: When used with generic OBD II Apps like Car Scanner ELM OBD2, you can read and erase engine diagnostic trouble codes, view freeze frame data, I/M readiness, and real-time sensor readings (such as O2 Readings, Engine coolant temperature, Mass air flow rate, Fuel rail pressure, Fuel Trim). These features help in identifying and fixing simple engine problems.

Advanced Functions: For selected vehicles, you can access advanced features through more professional Apps. This includes enhanced diagnostics and manufacturer-specific PIDs (such as transmission temperature, oil pressure), examining the battery in hybrid and electric vehicles, and customizing your vehicle. Note: this tool does not support oil light reset or other service reset. Vehicles not listed in the user guide are probably not supported for advanced functions.

Platform Compatibility

iOS & Android Devices: Compatible with iOS and Android platforms. For iOS devices, connect directly in the OBD App instead of through iOS Bluetooth. Android head units are compatible, although some phones may show pairing, saved status, or previous connections after pairing. Simply start the App to connect. Vehicle Compatibility

Basic Functions: Compatible with MY1996+ cars and light trucks in the US and 1998+ in Canada. For PHEVs and EVs, refer to the User Guide for EV compatibility. Note: Ensure your vehicle’s OBD port is in good condition and the device fits snugly for a proper connection (powering on alone does not guarantee a good fit).
